Running our rivers is big in this part of the world...

Fresh water rafting, drifting, kayaking, jet skiing, swiming, boating, and tubing are major activities in our part of the world. A jet boat trip upriver to Agness or a raft trip downriver on the Rogue from Grant's Pass to Gold Beach are probably the best known riverine adventures, but there are a multitude of other options open to the adventurous visitor. Depending on skill levels it is possible to find just about any level of challenge that you might seek. A picnic with the family dog on a deserted river sand bar can be a treasured memory for a child (and the pup will love it too). At the other extreme see what you can do with Blossum Bar in a tahiti when the Rogue is running hard.
Summer is the season that sees the most activity, but hardy souls play in the rivers all year long. In the winter they might tend to use a boat instead of a tahiti or an inner tube, but they will be out there - sometimes fishing and sometimes just dreaming. You never know what wildlife will be sharing the river with you, but there is plenty of it out there from posturing black bears down to diminutive river otter. Eagles and fishhawks hunt for salmon while deer and elk browse the riverside meadows. Seals and pelicans probe the estuary at the river mouth when the fish are gathering for their journey upriver to spawn. The further up any of our local rivers that one goes the wilder it becomes, but you will see wildlife all along the river - even close to town. Just keep your eyes open!
We can help you find exactly what you are looking for - from the quiet family picnic on the sand bar to the multi-day river trip complete with guide, raft, and all of the meals! The proximity of our vacation homes in Winter Springs Ranch to the wild river facilitates an imaginative use of the Rogue in your plans for a family reunion or a quiet honeymoon. Remember - there is no rule that says that a vacation needs to be boring.
